1. Is the charge of vandalizing the brakes true?
Because honestly, only a monster would do something like that.

6. I thought they pulled out the tire stems of 44 buses and
removed the warmers from the engine blocks basically shutting down the bus system for the district. Therefore no school.

2. If this is true, I really give her parenting an F-
Her kid is vandalizing breaks on a SCHOOL BUS, her other child is PREGNANT and her newest child has SPECIAL NEEDS.

Does she care about any of this?

3. I read about that in a comment on an Alaskan blog.
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 05:37 PM by mwb970
The commenter asked if people outside of Alaska knew about the school-bus vandalism. I would say "no" at this point.

Another Alaskan commenter on a similar blog claimed "her brothers are in jail". I haven't seen this anywhere else before or since. Anyone got anything? Does she even have brothers? The way her family puts out babies, she probably has at least two or three.

13. I saw that jail comment, also.
Looked into how many siblings she has..they have been awfully quiet, haven't they?
Sisters: Molly Heath McCann
Heather Heath Bruce

Brother: Chuck Heath Jr only article I have seen, so far:
http://www.wsbtv.com/news/17384559/detail.html
Small blurb about him. Lists all of her siblings.

He is listed as a "Jr" but going by this, their middle initials are different?
Peoplesearch lists relatives of whoever you search for...this is their list for Chuck Heath

http://www.peoplesearch.com/Results.aspx

Not sure if there are more siblings.

19. because she paraded her son in front of the world
more than once and expounded on the virtuous son who was going to Iraq. She is being held up as a model mother who works, is a baby machine like it is all nothing.

It puts strain on women who choose to cut down on professional responsibilities to actually do hands on care for their growing children. It's like, "well what's wrong with you, can't you do more?". Being a homemaker is enough for many women. If it's done well, it's a very big job.

In my opinion, she is a bad mother with two of her children not even having been living with her most of the last year. Just who is taking care of them?

47. Ever since this administration
took over, there's been so much BS that they've gotten away with..they don't answer to anything or anyone, and they're breaking her in the same way. Everything about her, family, etc off limits...why? We don't forget what they've done and who they are. Was the children of the past presidents and their families off limits--no. It's about time something is done and don't tell me that the people now are losing their spines. And, since she thinks she's going to be the next VP, and heaven forbid, the Pres if something happens to McShame. There's a lot of skeletons in her closet, and everything out of her mouth is a lie, and look at the massive coverup of everything taking place. Can you honestly accept caribou barbie running this country? Was she vetted, not according to how it's to be done. And there's a lot of R's in DC who aren't happy campers about her either.

I looked at the pix of her entire family at the convention..Didn't you see how uncomfortable her daughter and boyfriend were for most of the pix that were taken? Something tells me there's a lot more going on. Did you see and read about the "rock" on her finger? No way did her boyfriend have the $ to buy that..I'd bet it was a gift from McShame or his queen bee wife..don't forget, they have to make this upcoming family a family. Gee, maybe they'll have a WH WEDDING? They're making this family out to be the best, and the paper shredder is also working overtime in Alaska as well as it's been in DC.

Don't ask the caribou sure-shot a thing, keep the media away, keep everyone away. What kind of shit is this? And, can you imagine how the debate w/ her and Biden's going to go? They'll make certain she has the questions before hand. And look at what they've done to Olberman, people who aren't stupid and won't play their game..She's cocky as they come, and because they call her a lady, woman, female, well, she thrust her big mouth in the ring, and now let her try to be one of them since they claim she's a quick study...From the articles I've read, she's not an A student, and you know Holy Joe's tutoring her along w/ the rest of the gang..and of course, you know they've got people working w/ her family also.

It's unfair that they're trying to muzzle people who know her and the entire mob, and the groups her and hubby belong to. Noltice how the prima-donna takes off to avoid any questions, we've got a dangerous chic out there who's been known to be "vindictive", plus a few other descriptions of her. People don't know her anywhere except Alaska and mayBE a few other places, she's an unknown to most.

Biden will take care of her, but be ready for the negatives, they'll say he made attacks since he's brilliant, and there's a lot of freepers who aren't happy with this so-called beauty queen..a queen she is NOT. Preferential treatment to the repukes only? If she can't stand the heat, get her out of the kitchen. Enough is enough.

Start writing letters to your local papers editorial sections about this because there's a lot of PO'd people out there, and start educating those who are being fooled, and don't forget how those at the convention were given papers on what to say to anyone asking their opinions of her, they were all primed..and of course, let's not forget the queen of talk show, Elizabeth Hasselback, Sean Hannity's other mouth piece. I wonder what position she's going to get out of this coup, or will they keep her on "The View" so she can torment millions of viewers and promote the alaskan caribou killer..

55. Many here seem not to care what Obama says. We know far better than he and Biden
how to win an election against the repubs. :( Either that or many think that Obama was winking or had his fingers crossed, when he said that families are off-limits.

Repubs are also better at staying on message than Democrats are. We operate more on the "no one tells me what to do", so we continue the attacks on the children and Palin's ability to be a good mother and work at the same time.

16. Not really, but there's this ...

All of the news reports emerging at the time of his enlistment had these lines, which seem to originate with the AP.

"The reasons why he enlisted and why he signed his military contract on the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks were unavailable Wednesday.

The governor declined Wednesday to comment. The Palin family wants to keep private some aspects of his decision, Leighow said. Track was adamant about not wanting publicity, according to Nagl. "

It is curious.

I Agree

People are going to far. For example my name is Deryck Harris and I am the 2005 bus vandal and I am aslo a friend of Trek Palins. You should here the rumors going around about him. I have been getting calls from reporters because of rumors that he was involved in my high school mistake and that when faced with community service or the military, he chose the army. NONE of it is true, he had nothing to do with it. I also feel sorry for Bristol, it's going to be hard enough being a teen mom let alone a teen mom with tv hosts and media talking about her

but juvenile records are sealed for a reason. I don't recall any publicity at the time of this incident that Sarah Palin's son was a participant. It wouldn't have been in the paper, of course, but it seems like we would have heard something "through the grapevine." Since Alaska is a small and close-knit state, not too much goes on without someone hearing about it. I'll keep an eye on local speculation and let you know if something more concrete comes up.

I agree with Obama. Families should be off limits. There's enough confirmed information about Sarah's policies and beliefs to use as ammunition. We really don't need to dwell on unconfirmed rumors about her kids. Just my opinion.

And, besides that, Track Palin is not running for vice president, Sarah Palin is. There are many, many, many reasons why she is unsuitable for this position that have nothing to do with her family. It seems to me that time spent digging around into what her children may or may not have been up to for the past 10 years or whatever could better be spent concentrating on Sarah's record in office. That is, after all, what they're relying on in making their determination that she's ready to lead.

46. From what I've read on some of the Alaska blogs, the rumors *have* been out there .
The vandalism of the school bus fleet occurred in late November 2005 (was reported in the local paper(s) on Dec. 5 or 6).

At that time, Palin was neither governor (elected Nov. 2006) nor Mayor. She was in the middle of a 3-4 year period of unemployment, during which time she started her cutely-named business, "Rouge Cou". Somewhere in their she had that plum do-nothing high-paying "commissioner" position. At any rate, she and her son would not have been in the limelight as much as they are now, so the rumor mill would not have been quite as active. I'd bet the info is out there *somewhere*, though.

In terms of talking about her kids, SHE and the Repug party are the ones who always put themselves out there as cornering the market on "family values" and morality (and liberals are EVIL) . IMHO, that gives us and the press the green light to examine just what sort of fruit those "family values" have borne.

Rumors: Track Palin was involved in a massive vandalism of Matsu (the borough where Wasilla, Alaska is located)school busses in 2005, and this had a lot to do with him leaving Wasilla schools, and enrolling in hockey school in Michigan, away from his mothers career. Another rumor is that his joining the army had to do with a plea deal for the vandalism event, and it prevented permanent charges from sticking when he became an adult. Not sure if this is true or not, but these are rumors moving in some circles in Alaska.

-----------------
Given the extent of the damage (to be around $37,00 worth plus the closing of the schools, etc..), would it not be considered a felony?

Join the military = felony dropped/left off adult record?

36. Bus vandals charged
Four teens arrested Monday for criminal mischief, trespass

December 6, 2005

JOEL DAVIDSON\Frontiersman reporter

MAT-SU - Alaska State Troopers arrested four teenage boys at their Mat-Su homes Monday after they were charged in last week's vandalism of 44 Mat-Su school buses - an incident that forced the Mat-Su Borough School District to close schools for a day on Nov. 29.

Trooper spokesman Greg Wilkinson said the boys were in the custody of their parents over the weekend while troopers continued their investigation. The arrests Monday were pre-arranged so parents could be present when the boys were taken away to Mat-Su Youth Facility in Palmer.

40. You can't join army to avoid jail time.
Edited on Sun Sep-07-08 09:56 PM by Statistical
Story must be false.

Army recruiters can not recruit ANYONE who has ANY pending charge (no matter how minor). Period.
Judge can't impose military sentence and recruiters can't work w/ judge to get charges dropped in return for recruiting.

It has been this way for a long time now. In the 70s and 80s it was done a lot but the DOD noticed the low quality recruits were more likely to end up AWOL, in jail, court marshaled, or in general just a pain in the ass. I think it was stopped in 88 but I am not sure of the date, I am positive it is now allowed now. I am in National Guard now and served 8 years Active Duty. One of my friends is a recruiter, I have given his card to people before and for one reason or another (pending charge) they either couldn't join or had to wait until charge was cleared before joining.

If the forums/blogs pick this up they will only look incredibly stupid when Faux news or CCN runs a story where they ask a recruiter (any recruiter) and get told point blank that DOD Regulations prohibit it (and quote the exact reg).

EDIT:
Here is an unrelated story where judge TRIED to make man join army to avoid Jail. Army stated THEY COULD NOT TAKE HIM. PERIOD.
http://www.stripes.com/article.asp?section=104&article=33904&archive=true
But Army regulations say that people facing pending charges are ineligible to enlist, said Army spokesman Lt. Col. Bryan Hilferty.

“Army policy reflected in Army Regulation 601-210, paragraph 4-32a states ‘waiver is not authorized if a criminal or juvenile court charge is pending or if such a charge was dismissed or dropped at any stage of the court proceedings on condition that the offender enlists in a military service,’ ” Hilferty said in an e-mail response to questions.

Army recruiters are also banned from helping someone get out of pending charges by joining the Army, Hilferty said.

“It isn’t a new regulation. Not taking jailbirds has been our policy for decades,” he said.

he wasn't doing well in school and didn't have the grades to make the hockey team. The bus vandalism, though, may still be true, in which case it doesn't reflect well on Todd and Sarah's parenting--especially not with a knocked-up daughter. Who the hell is watching these Palin kids?
