Anyone who watched the two conventions has to come to the conclusion that John McCain is a great man, a war hero, a true leader. In fact, his demeanor reminds me a little of that of George Washington, as performed in the excellent HBO series on John Adams.
Well, the Democrats should stop with that b.s. John McCain is a victim and a survivor, but not a hero. And, someone ought to tell the truth about this if only out of respect to those troops who died or otherwise did far more for our country.
This is John McCain's military record: - Lost 4 planes before going into combat - Engaged in about 20 hours of combat missions - Became a POW
What in the world is heroic about that?
Also, the sad fact is he lost 5-1/2 years of his life as a POW. What good did those 5-1/2 years do for him? What did he learn? How did it making him better prepared to be president? Is an American who is unfairly put in prison more qualified than one who is not? It's absurd.
Turning John McCain into George Washington is not only harmful to the Democrats, it's harmful to the truth
