That would be nice.

4. Would turn the mods into triers of fact... not practical. (Someone would have to vet the list.)

I get annoyed by the millionth post of something debunked, but the alternatives are even worse.

8. Once it's debunked by hundreds of people, I think compiling such a list would be easy.

When there are a dozen new threads every hour with the same "OMG Look at this list of books!!!11" how easy it would be to just reference it in a common thread, and then delete the sucker? Instead of having to deal with hundreds of alerts on the threads from users who are sick to death of seeing them muddy up the real dirty waters of REAL scandals.

14. I would agree... Except, I'll take 1000 false banned book list posts rather than look at one...
photo-shopped 'Air Force One' picture bashing the Democratic Candidate.

Oddly, it was allowed to remain up.

I've seen a group of the religiously insane burn a stack of books in the last five years...

15. I couldn't agree more. I don't need to come to DU to be that offended.
A description would have been better, we didn't need to see that sick photo... and I really wish it would disappear. :(

10. Some of the forums would completely disappear if we were to apply it to the whole of DU.

It would also be nice to have a rule that you cannot post unless you have something to say that is relevant to what was typed in the subject line. For example, you'll see a post like, 'OMG, Olbermann is hilarious!1!!1' and then there's nothing in the body of the post except maybe a 'rofl' emoticon. Then one response after another you'll see, 'Yeah, it was funny when he did that n/t' and so on, and so on. You never do find out what the fuck that post was about. It drives me crazy!

I've created a post maybe 3 times in the 6 years I've been on DU (whenever DU first started up). Mostly because I have absolutely nothing to say. Why would someone go through the trouble of creating a post when they can just do their one line comment in an already existing thread? Sorry, this is one of my pet peeves.
