10. Or maybe Her Majesty Sara Palin can come on the TeeVee device and explain the whole thing away...
I'm all ears.

I'll give it a fair hearing, I promise.

But, alas, coming from one of the five communities in the U.S. where the fundies
did actually burn copies of "Harry Potter". I can't promise I'll believe her.

17. Harry Potter...Dead Giveaway
The list has the fourth Harry Potter book. Goblet of Fire was published in 2000, Palin became mayor in 1996. The librarian resigned in 1999 - the year before that Harry Potter book hit the shelves.

A little bit of common sense...

19. Sorry not obsessed with Harry Potter..
and I wanted it to give to people that emailed me this. I figured when I saw the length of the list that it was not a true list. But, when I looked up debunking of it, I got a Michele Malkin debunking

5. This has already been debunked many times.
The list is a compilation of books that various people and groups at various times have tried to have banned. Palin inquired about banning books in general and tried to get the Wasilla librarian fired, but there were never any specific books.

I think Palin sucks but it doesn't help to propagate false information.

8. Stop posting that crap! She did not ban that list! Everytime you do it, you sabotage the cause.
Stop posting that crap! She did not ban that list! Everytime you do it, you sabotage the cause.

That list is the standard list that librarians pass around.

Palin fired the librarian and then allowed her to come back. No actual books were mentioned. Palin only discussed the concept of banning books with her, but the real fact is that such a discussion is not "rhetorical", as Palin would have the sheeple believe, but more like Sluggo coming around to discuss your "fire insurance".

But get your facts straight first.

9. Post #33 in that list
The list cited by “Andrew AuCoin” is not from Sarah Palin. It actually comes from http://www.adlerbooks.com/banned.html. It’s a compendium of all books banned anywhere in the United States.

13. I might believe it if that fact were pointed out by the Honored Matre Sara Palin herself.
Eh, otherwise it's just so much hearsay.

11. It's enough that she wants to ban any books,
Even if there is not a specific list of books.

16. agreed, this is a standard list of suggested books to ban. We all know she didn't get any books
banned, and the fired librarian was reinstated.

It is helpful to revisit the many extraordinary literary works that the banners want to protect us from.

18. Where I teach we did a banned book day -
I read from Catcher - and this is a standard list of books that have been banned. My wife teaches middle school and loves going through it to find out how many she has taught ( quite a number we are proud to say). It has no connection to Sarah Palin.
