Obama On The Offensive
Source: CBS News

(Political Animal) Obama On The Offensive .... It looks like Barack Obama's intent (is) on starting the stretch run on an
aggressive note. He added a few sections to his stump speech today that I hadn't heard before.

... he took on John McCain's latest effort to present himself as an agent of change. "Suddenly he's the change agent,"
Obama said. "He says, 'I'm going to tell those lobbyists that their days of running Washington are over.' who's he going
to tell? Is he going to tell his campaign chairman, who's one of the biggest corporate lobbyists in Washington? Is he
gonna tell his campaign manager who was one of the biggest lobbyists in Washington? Is he gonna tell all the folks
who are running his campaign who are the biggest corporate lobbyists in Washington? Who, who is it that he's going to
tell change is coming? I mean, come on. They must think you're stupid."

13. Get out!
Oh wait, I think they don't want us talking about POW. Seen too many dead-ended POW threads, I did.

It must be because being a POW is like, y'know, a quality we need in a president. Never mind he was the fattest of all the POWs to get off the plane. Hey, I seen that on ABC. That he was the fattest. On ABC.

Anyway, how 'bout that girl he picked up in Alaska. She's a cutey, no? Even a little devilish, eh?

7. Indiana want you, Obama you must come back here
Indiana here - I was hoping that since Barack Obama was in Terre Haute, Indiana today that he would stop by in Valparaiso since we had a pretty big festival here today - The 30th Annual Popcorn Festival which honors Orville Redenbacher who once upon a time grew his corn for his famous popcorn right in our town. Sadly I have not seen hide nor hair of Senator Obama.

However, I have written of my first experience in walking a parade as a Democrat on Daily Kos. It was an experience.

20. I'm with you! IGNORE her. Marginalize her as much as possible
by simply not mentioning her. Minimize any answer given if asked about her directly, something like, "McAnus is at the top of the ticket; let's focus on the career politician who wants the top job" or something like that and move on.

37. she lies too much to be ignored....
Every lie no matter who tells it should be exposed as just that... A LIE!

I think the real question should be asked, what makes her a rock star?

All she did was read a bunch of insults and lies from a computer screen.

You can get stand up comedy from professionals on the comedy channel late night, any night of the week

Should they be vice presidential candidates also?

No, I think you never ignore a liar, for they will continue to lie until you expose them as liars and remove their credibility.

31. He mentioned her....
Don't be fooled," Obama told the crowd surrounding him in a large barn. "John McCain's party, with the help of John McCain, has been in charge" for nearly eight years.
"I know the governor of Alaska has been saying she's change, and that's great," Obama said. "She's a skillful politician. But, you know, when you've been taking all these earmarks when it's convenient, and then suddenly you're the champion anti-earmark person, that's not change. Come on! I mean, words mean something, you can't just make stuff up."
McCain has vowed to wipe out earmarks, which are targeted funding for specific projects that lawmakers put into spending bills. As governor, Palin originally supported earmarks for a controversial $398 million Alaska project dubbed the "bridge to nowhere." But she dropped her support after the state's likely share of the cost rose. She hung onto $27 million to build the approach road to the bridge.
Under Palin's leadership, Alaska this year asked for almost $300 per person in requests for pet projects from one of McCain's top adversaries: indicted Sen. Ted Stevens. That's more than any other state received, per person, from Congress for the current budget year. Other states got just $34 worth of local projects per person this year, on average, according to Citizens Against Government Waste, a Washington-based watchdog group. The state government's earmark requests to Congress in her first year in office exceeded $550 million, more than $800 per resident. Palin actually reduced the state government's requests for special projects this year in the wake of President Bush's demand for a cutback in earmarks.

Attack the lies.

33. Economic inequality, Obama! Let 'em know in a big way!
People need to hear the truth about rising inequality and middle-class wage and income stagnation. "Why isn't my paycheck keeping pace with my bills?" Obama needs to explain clearly what has happened to the US economy over the past 30 years and propose a clear and unambiguous set of policies that will work to reverse the class polarization of the post-1980 era. Most Americans do NOT agree with Republicanomics, and Obama has been timid to exploit this weakness to its fullest.

Heck, if Biden weren't already the running mate I would have suggested Paul Krugman! At least Krugman should get a position in the Obama administration as he understands the "big picture" in a way that even many Democratic policy experts do not.

(HURRAH!!! My 500th message.)
