Sept 6 (today) version - probably doesn't take in any or many post Ron Popeil Informertial...er, RNC - updates yet. Look at the strong vs weak Dem vs GOP. And I expect things to get better from here, once debates happen.

Feeling optimistic in Raleigh tonight!

Particularly interesting since abortion rate went down under Clinton....

U.S. Has Highest Teen Pregnancy Rate in the Developed World

Bristol Palin is not alone. There are 400,000 other unwed teenage mothers in the U.S. right now, the highest per capita rate among developed countries. The U.S. is tied with Hungary for the most abortions. One might think that people who believe abortion is murder would be doing everything in their power to prevent unwanted pregnancies to eliminate potential abortions, but that is not the case at all. While everyone should leave Bristol alone now, since the subject is in the news, the public policy issue of how to avoid unwanted teen pregnancies is certainly fair game. This op-ed piece in the NY Times

http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/06/opinion/06blow.html?_r=1&hp&oref=slogin

discusses how the policy of abstinence-only education has been a dismal failure that leads to pregnancies and abortions. Other countries have other policies and far fewer abortions.

4. New Orleans was the Democratic stronghold. That is why they let Katrina either kill or relocate
so many citizens.

Not so sure that the entire state was ever Democratic...

5. Pretty much. After Katrina they got evicted, essentially.
New Orleans just barely, *barely* was tipping it in the Democratic favor.
