remember my sad, depressing post last night? LOL
tonight was better...b/c we went out for Korean food and didn't even watch, LOL

anyways...i was troubled all day about that shitfest last night...and so late this afternoon, i sent this to my mother:

been thinking about this all day...

Romney, Guiliani, and Sarah Palin mocked and ridiculed community organizers and volunteers last night, all while smiling and smirking. a convention hall full of people laughed and snickered at the concept. at least Mike Huckabee had the decency to look uncomfortable at times.

community organizers helped free the slaves.
community organizers helped women earn the right to vote.
community organizers fueled the civil rights movement.
community organizers work for Habitat for Humanity and the Red Cross and the YMCA an all other types of programs.
community organizers aid victims of midwestern floods, southern tornadoes, and gulf coast hurricanes...lately, better than the government does.

Jesus Christ was a community organizer.

you know why i've often not voted democratic...my libertarian streak is a bit too strong.

THIS is why i don't vote republican - they make me SICK.

my mom is just a sweet, gentle lady. i'm trying. i don't know why it's so important to me how she votes this time...Texas is blood red and it won't make a difference.

i just...i want her to be on the RIGHT side, the right side of history, and the right side for herself.

1. I know your frustration. I'm telling my family, this time vote for
what's best for yourself. All of them are in financial trouble and I can't imagine why anybody would vote Republican after the last 8 years. I've got 2 to turn around and I'm still going to work on the others - for one reason I don't want them all to call me for a "small" loan. I'm the only aunt of 6 and their father died almost 18 years ago, so naturally when they're in trouble they call me. I really don't mind helping, but damn....

2. They made a stupid mistake ridiculing community organizers and an even bigger
one going after Unions imo.
