IT'S A TRAP!

(psst - YOU, scroll down)

Okay, it really was a trap.

The trap was, put Palin out there and try to sucker Obama into running against her.

How did Obama/Biden respond?

Biden goes on teh morning shows to talk about Palin, build her up, defend her against a sexist media, and concern troll how hard it is going to be to debate her.

MEanwhile, Obama is right now taking it straight to McCain.

Seriously, the McCain camp bet it all on a sophomoric trick hoping to get under Obama's skin and he sloughed the whole thing off.

Now McCain is stuck with Caribou Barbie and her Action Trailerhouse.

4. I'm in total agreement
She brings NOTHING to the ticket that wasn't already there. Like the conservative evangelicals were going to vote for Obama/Biden!

Now that he's hung this albatross around his neck to get the right-wing to love him, he's now got to campaign to women voters (no abortions, even if you're dying) and to Independents (no birth control, so if your seventeen-year-old gets pregnant, start calling caterers).

She's a cipher. A non-entity in terms of her politics. Ignoring her pathetic yelping (with an occasional smackdown from a surrogate) is the best strategy.

Biden is going to destroy her in the debates, and blogosphere will do all the REALLY dirty work on her background and experience.

5. When asked about the crap thrown at him by Palin and the rest last night
Obama said, "I've been called worse on teh basketball court."

The man is the best politician I have ever seen.

6. I think she does bring something to the ticket for McCain
People can say McCain is a fundie all they want, and at the moment, he may even be talking link one, but fundies who have been paying attention for the last 10 years don't trust the fucker. They know McCain will sell them out in a heartbeat once he gets their votes. No, they won't vote for Obama/Biden, but they may not show up at all. Palin is for them.

I think it says good things about our chances when Obama goes out and gets a veep with the tools and experience to help him govern, which I think will appeal to moderates, while McCain has to pick a veep who's only real appeal is to a group of voters that SHOULD be his base.

10. Did you seen the Daily Show clip of Karl Rove
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 02:57 PM by Jeff In Milwaukee
Think it was last night. Talking about Tim Kaine as VP, Karl is dissing the fact that Kaine was the mayor of Richmond, VA (pop 200,000) and saying that "It's just not a big town" and concluding that picking Kaine would be an purely political choice.

Stewart was on fire last night.

11. I missed it last night,
It doesn't surprise me at all, though. I agree with all the things that she doesn't bring to the ticket, but I think McCain had to pick a fundie to get out his base. She was purely a political pick.

7. Plus, Obama/Biden has turned the trap around....
and reset it. Biden this morning was not only gratious, he talked about how folks thought he was a great debator, but that he really was not....and that it would be pretty difficult for him to debate against her...hehehehehehe..trap set.
Obama says that the attacks were certainly not unexpected....and that he was running against McCain...although he expects that her views are the same as mccains...and that the reason she said that community organizers are not relevant is because clearly because they do not see the helping of people in financial hardship as relevant. Trap reset again.
