We are going to win this thing
So when the polls start showing the McSame ticket closing the gap don't panic(and some DU's do panic). I know we are up in the polls but we all know that they will be tightning because the Republican base will consolidate. Thats what Palin pre-scripted speech was for. This is not 2004, the country is moving to the left. I loved John Kerry but he is not Obama. Palin does not transcend no matter how much the media tries to force feed this to the public. This is a new game with new turnout models. The old rules will not apply. As a college Instructor I noticed this Presidential season young people are a lot more informed than in 2004.Even though we are ahead(and we will win this) its best to act like we are behind.

1. We were told the same thing about turnout in 2004..
and that didn't work out (yes, I know Diebold, blah blah blah).

I want to be optimistic but I'm not. I just now they can pull out anything at any time and that small segment of the public on whome the election hinges are a gullible group who fall for anything and everything. I just really think they're still going to pull the rug out from under us.

2. Its different than 2004
the same fears were going around in 2006, thinking that they were going to steal the mid terms, they tried and there is evidence to this. In my life time we have never had a candidate like this. Its not going to be easy but we have the best candidate.

4. I hope you're right.
I really do. Like I said int he past couple of elections, I'll be more than happy to be wrong.

3. I don't think the GOP is as prepared to steal this one as they were in '04
For one thing, I think they had resigned themselves to kind of losing this one, particularly when Hillary was expected to be the nominee. They were leaving a mess for the dems to clean up, Hillary's pretty moderate and it kind of keeps the status quo going in Washington anyway & Bush or Clinton in the White House for 30+ years.

But I do believe they desperately want to keep Obama out for many things that he represents. But I don't think their infrastructure is in place, as well as before, to steal this one. We've got to be vigilant, but I think we win this one too.
