nomination, were they going to have to accept Sarah as well? Part of me thinks that she was McCain's Hail Mary pass, made without any real forethought and certainly no serious effort. The other part of me wonders if she was going to be plucked from obscurity no matter who got the nod. Mitt, Rudy, and even possibly Fred needed some bait to dangle in front of the religious fanatics. (Huck was possibly far enough right for the religiously insane, so he may have been allowed to go with someone a little more moderate.)
And if Hillary had won our nomination, or been selected as the VP candidate, they would have been able to counter with their own female candidate, giving us women-folk a 'choice', as it were.
Any opinions about that?
Sorry if this has been discussed before. Although I've made an admirable effort to stay on top of the Palin situation, I don't think it's humanly possible to read the approximately 3,000 new Palin threads that pop up here every day.
