Win the ratings war, that is.

3. Game will be over before the speech

The game starts at 7 and should be ending around 10. If anything, the game may boost McCain's audience by giving him a sizable network lead-in.

And when you add in the other networks -- broadcast and cable -- its a dead certainty that the total audience for McCain will be considerably greater than the audience for the game.

5. Last years Colts-Saints Thursday opener got 17.8 Million people.
And the Giants-Skins are bigger markets. I think it will be close.

8. Football!
:D

Football time is a magical time of the year. All is right in the world when your team is playing on the teevee. We've waited seven long months for this season to finally kick-off.. it's going to put a dent in McCain's ratings this evening.

15. Given the repugs' luck, expect overtime
After close to 4 hours of football, nobody will be interested in hearing a campaign speech, least of all from McSame.

16. I'm guessing the NFL
I for one would rather watch football than hear McLame say anything. And I don't like football.
