I've hit on an amusing rhetorical discovery.
The phrase "Comparing Sarah Palin to Ronald Reagan is an insult to Ronald Reagan." leaves GOPers and Freep-types sputtering and apoplectic.

They can't actually summon the cognitive dissonance to state or imply that she's in any way comparable to their beloved Ronnie. To paraphrase Meatloaf: "they would do anything for love (of power, greed, evil), but they won't do that." Even if you got one to engage that debate (I've found a few), they don't seem able to sustain or justify the opinion that Palin is Reaganesque.

What makes it better is that we all know that she's just like Reagan: An inept, evil, wrong-headed dolt with great stage presence and little else.
