Palin: "Ann Coulter in a Reindeer Sweater"

Wow. I think the last time that many old, white people were gathered together was what, Lawrence Welk’s funeral?

Ann Coulter in a Reindeer Sweater

Well, the Republicans have found themselves quite the new poster girl, haven’t they? If a talent for over-the-top nastiness while reading a teleprompter is the top qualification for the Vice Presidency of the United States, she’s a freaking shoo-in.

I’m a little surprised at some of the wailing and rending of garments I’m seeing in some comment threads tonight. Sure, she was aggressive, seemed confident, and did a serviceable job with a speech that was written before she was even selected. She’s a talented speaker, especially for someone so new to the world of politics.

I’ll be much more interested to see how things develop as the various investigations around her tighten and she has to do some public appearances without a script. I just feel like Goodwife Palin is just a little loony. You can see way too much of the whites of her eyes at once. All the time. It has been my experience that those people go off the rails early and often.

In fact she seems to be practically vibrating with crazy, humming like a high voltage cable. I get the sense that at any time, she could burst open like a veritable piñata stuffed with character issues, ill-considered remarks, and petty vendettas.

It's pretty damn rich for John McCain to dispatch a secessionist to criticize any American's patriotism, kp
