But hey, I'll go out on a huge limb and say that hypothetically you are correct and the McCain campaign somehow finds the excuses to weasle out of the debates. I'd say GOOD, because if they do, that means they lose the election without question. The media would NEVER forgive them for screwing them out of the ratings they would have achieved by covering the debates. Rupert Murdoch would be extremely PISSED. All the networks and papers would turn on them and brand them as cowards. You have to consider that the media isn't really liberal or conservative... its just capitalist. They will do whatever they can to keep the drama going, between both sides. Anything to drive viewers to watch the big political soap opera and make tons of cash off of the advertising.

I was unaware that there had even been dates set aside. According to my fundy mom Obama backed out of ten town hall meetings that he promised to do with McCain. Go figure.
