Ummm. . . What about *TONIGHT?*
Sure, Sarah got the red meat crowd to their with a stale slogan-laden speech.. (after the nastiest possible opening act by the nastiest piece of work in the Country).. "The Energy was ELECTRIC" according to the RW bloviaters..

Does anyone here think that McLame is going to be able to carry that hype? Tonight is going to be the biggest lead balloon. My prediction is that he will give the shortest acceptance speech in history.

8. Very good call. I've been thinking that all week.

The defending Super Bowl champions are playing an intra-division game tonight. I think that will definitely capture a lot of NFL fans.

9. After further review....
It shouldn't be an issue. The game starts at 7pm eastern. They'll (NBC) make sure the game is wrapped up by 10:15.

To be honest, it might result in MORE viewership for McCain's speech.

His party was never excited about his being POTUS and now they *really* aren't excited about him.

4. Well.... the electricity will likely still be there tonight and
I believe he'll get grand applause. He won't even have to open his mouth. He just has to walk out on the stage and stand there. And you can bet your ass that he'll stand there smirking until the last person stops clapping.

5. Oh it'll be there when he walks on.
The question is how long into the speech it will last.

You can be sure he'll get shreiks at the end, but will it be because they suddenly lu-u-urve him? Or will it be because he finally finished his speech?

6. Of course they'll go nuts at the convention
The real question is will everyone else around the country go nuts.

I've seen McSame speak. He's actually much better at a Town Hall style than using a teleprompter. I bet he's nearly go the speech memorized. He's extremely stiff (partially due to his body is fucked up...plus that long poll up his arse) and talks with that nut-bulge in his cheek. He also mumbles and blinks alot.

I think she upstaged him quite a bit last night. Plus tonight is the eve of the Hurricane Hannah on its way. Florida will be pre-occupied with that and the NFL starts tonight.

10. Should we have a sweepstakes...
Edited on Thu Sep-04-08 07:50 AM by nxylas
...on how many times he says "my friends" during the course of the speech? You could probably invent a drinking game, come to think of it (take a shot for every "my friends", one for every creepy Joker-victim grin etc.)
Edit: whoops, sorry, Ive already been beaten to it: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x6921827
