43. Well, I've heard it applied to Hillary, Michelle, Pelosi, and every other woman politican
I didn't buy that a lot of attacks, animosity, and maliciousness towards Hillary were sexist... But I would say there's a definite pattern arising in how the media treats female candidates. Being female shouldn't make a candidate immune from criticism - but are they all "shrill" and "bitches?" ALL of them? Hillary was only famous because of a "blue dress", according to Chris Matthews, and now the same demeaning, belittling comments are being directed at Palin. Her politics are horrendous, and her stances unacceptable, but when it comes to powerful women the media tries to make it a personal matter. How long ago were we hearing all about Michelle Obama's "whitey tape?"

I'm sorry, but I have to say that the campaign currently being waged against her is, in fact, largely sexist. And it's coloring my opinion of the campaign that was run against Hillary as well.

20. When Biden called Obama "articulate" many felt it had racist connotations.
"isms" are sometimes in the eyes of the beholders.

Was it Ferris Bueller or John Lennon, or both, that said, "I don't believe in ismns, I just believe in me."

16. I think Palin dissing the media has taken affect on CNN.They have
already apologized for naming Palin's speech writer but no Dems speechwriters during the convention. Shrill? That's how it goes. Palin used San Francisco as a diss against large city living vs. small town values. Think she pulled that out of a hat?

29. To my recollection...
isn't San Francisco where Obama made that comment about "guns and religion"?

The MSM is falling all over themselves trying to cover Palin. They have never had to critique a female Repub at this high a level in this kind of spotlight. It is unchartered waters and no one wants to be the one who says something sexist that gets themself fired from their glorious broadcast perch.

They trashed Massachusetts and now San Francisco. These fuckwads only like 'certain parts' of America.

Dems NEVER trash Mississippi, or other Republican strong-holds.

I realize Frisco and Bawston are Liberal, but why do they have to use division as a first line play? Truly dispicable humans.

36. All they had to do was NOT make her look mean. They failed.
Americans want their politicians to be nice. Notice that our nominees are Obama and McCain the two nice guys. They especially want women to be nice and they are unforgiving about women who come across as vindictive, shrill, sarcastic, mean spirited, bitter.

Remember how the press reviled Clinton when she complained about Obama's campaign tactics? There is a double standard and a newbie like Sarah Palin is not going to change that double standard. Not when she looks like the cliche villain from a soap opera.

I can not believe that Team McCain is so incompetent. Her speech should have been 100% wholesome American values and praise for John McCain. Rudi was fine for the Obama trashing part. That is what he is good at.

Palin should have drawn a line in the sand and refused to cross it. She is supposed to have executive experience. I did not see any in display tonight---unless that is how they conduct politics in Alaska. In Texas, it won't get you elected dog catcher.
