Roland Martin: Community Organizers Will Make Palin PAY!
WOW!

Roland Martin had steam coming out of his ears -- "Both my parents are community organizers, and they heard Palin and this crowd MOCKING them!"

And Martin is convinced Obama will launch a counterattack defending community organizers as people who fight for better housing and food and jobs, and when Sarah Palin and dumbassed Repunk conventioneers mock them they mock AMERICA!

BOO-YAH, Roland!

5. BTW Martin's base is Chicago and if you don't think that Roland does not
have a direct link to Obama's blackberry; you just don't know. I remember after Hillary did the "heavens" thing, Roland said what Barack should do and dammit if he did not do it the next day.

6. Community is one of the things this country is about
People get out and organize, doing things that are helpful to their community as a whole. Where I grew up, that was always something that I saw happening. It's really going to backfire for the GOP, mocking something a lot of upstanding citizens do.

8. I Hope So!!!
From what I read (sorry, I just couldn't watch it) it would seem to me to be THE line that will haunt McSame/Palin and perhaps the entire GOP for the rest of this election. The rest of the speech is pretty much Obama bashing and props for herself and McSame. O.k. Fine. Bashing the media and "Washington elite." Fine. It's their convention. But why would she GO OUT OF HER WAY to demean not only Obama's hard work as a community organizer but by extension everybody out there right now doing the same kind of work? If this doesn't prove beyond a shadow of a doubt how contemptuous the GOP REALLY is of working-class voters (whose votes they somehow always manage to win) and how the GOP (and their loyal supporters) are the REAL "elites" in this country then I'm not sure ANYTHING will. I can't wait to see Obama/Biden shred both of them to pieces in the debates and in the election.

Way to piss off people who organize. God, they're hopeless.

13. Oh but some thought tooty's speech
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 11:16 PM by zidzi
was "devastating"(to us)! And it would "energize their base!"

It was a "bush speech" who didn't even come in person to his party's convention. And, I think it's going to ENERGIZE OUR BASE:bounce:

16. Community Organizers across this country are seething mad. Yes ... she will pay dearly

Nobody organizes people to rally around a cause better than a Community Organizer.

Did she not think they would be somewhat offended by her disparigning comments directed at their career profession?

I think organizers are going to make her pay dearly.

17. Does anyone have a quote of her exact line?
I didn't see the speech and I'm curious to see what exactly was said.

Thanks.

24. The Community Organizer vote
I think Palin/McCain are willing to miss out on the community organizer vote. No offense, it just isn't their constituency.

about linking up with other charities and rally against this. This was INSULTING TO MY PROFESSION. Where is fucking Sarah Palin when I get home very late, work on weekends for little pay, when I have to organize a community programme with next to no money and see the difference it makes to that one orphan child? WHERE THE FUCK IS SHE??

This woman has been pissing me off all week. Now I will not sit down. I ain't taking this shit!

23. Dumb move by Rethugs, it will backfire
Lots of people help out in communities to make a difference in people who have little money or means to a better way of life. This is just one more slap at the little people and the Rethugs will once again come off as out of touch.
