Anyone talking about going soft on this woman
Is a fucking idiot. Her real record sucks. Her credentials sucks. However she is a good speaker and she is a good liar and incredibly charismatic. She is dangerous and to the right of Pat Buchanan. She is Nixon in a Pantsuit but meaner. We need to take her out now or deal with her either as VP or as a Presidential nominee in 2012 or both.

Please explain your plan.

5. You are assuming that going hard is automatically superior
If the objective is winning an election that doesn't necessarily follow.

Palin is more exciting than McCain. She is a better PRODUCT than McCain. There may be benefits to not making the next 60 days about her.

Some of these issues are not clear-cut politically. For instance, where you or I see abuse of power in troopergate, others will see a caring pro-active woman trying to protect her sister against a wicked abuser.

I expect team Obama to soft-pedal Palin, and I don't necessarily disagree, as a practical political matter.
