It's interesting that TMC should play this particular movie tonight.
Another old political War Horse is about to have his last hurrah.
It's almost sad, but for me at least, it is a little pathetic. A man not willing to face reality, surrounded by sycophants who will tell him anything that he wants to hear.
McCain at one time may have been considered a Maverick, but somewhere along the way he put personal ambition ahead of what ever principles he may have had.
I say almost because for all the primping and preening he did over the decades got in the way of what ever potential he may have had.
Johnny, your time is past, your politics suddenly so out of touch with the world outside the GOP cocoon, so different from the people who loved you and admired you. You aren't even sure you can carry Arizona. You must be asking why, why did they send Barack Obama. So young, so fresh, so brimming with the knowledge that he is the future. It must still tear you apart, the way Rove tore you apart in South Carolina.
And that was the point. If you would have stood your ground, exhibited some of that Maverick, perhaps you wouldn't be in this place today.
