On a serious note about the Palin -gates
The Republican party has spent the last 8 years saying that THEIR party is the only party that is looking out for the security and well-being of America. Repeatedly we hear that the Democratic Party are putting/will put Americans in harms way and are clueless about what it takes to keep the nation safe.

Last Friday, when he announced his UNvetted pick for VP, John McCain did more (potential) harm to this country than any Democrat ever has or could. The possible consequence of his poor judgment and selfishness has a never-ending list of "what if's".

Putting an unvetted person in one of the highest offices of the land, giving them, no doubt, top security clearance puts them at HIGH risk of someone from their unvetted background OR someone from another country who wants to do us harm BLACKMAILING them into cooperating with the blackmailers. And the one thing we know about blackmailing is that is never a one time deal. It goes on and on and on. Depending on how desperate the high office official is to hide that information, there is no telling what they would be willing to do, turn over, agree to, etc..

Instead of attacking those of us who have spent the last five days vetting their candidate FOR THEM, conservatives/Republicans need to be denouncing and questioning Sen McCain. If he is using this kind of poor judgment in picking someone for the second highest office in the land, he would not think twice about using the same process with other appointees in his administration. Which means, potentially, he could end up with a large portion of his administration be subject to blackmails/threats from their past. If we are lucky it will be some lone drug dealer just wanting a payoff. Not so lucky: pick any random country, lobbyist, or terrorist group that comes to mind.

Time for the Republicans to look inward at their own leadership--or lack thereof. THAT is where the problem is, not here and not us.

1. Excellent post!
This Friday, I expect to see the Democratic surrogates coming out in force and questioning McCain's judgement. They are laying low during the convention, but it will all bust loose Friday.

Haven't heard any of them really focus on the seriousness of McCain not having taken the vetting serious enough or what the consequences could be.
