Don't give the press and the wild-eyed GOP faithful an inch on this. Every comment you see tonight and tomorrow about this speech, we must point out that Mr. Scully wrote the speech. She is READING it. If America is judging a VP candidate on how well they read, than the hype over this speech is valid. However, it is not about how well she reads. She is reading a speech that was originally written for a man (probably Pawlenty), and the speechwriter had to go back and customize it so it sounded like a woman wrote it. (far be it from them to use a female speechwriter.)

2. Obama writes his own speeches, like Clinton did.

Obama also wrote his own books (McCain's are ghostwritten). Republicans are always mouthing words someone else came up with, and sometimes badly at that (bush and McCain).

We'll have to find out whether Sarah can read a teleprompter. To tell you the truth, she seems to be a lot sharper than McCain, so I'm pretty sure she'll do fine.
