Conversation I had today with a McCain/Palin fan.
He asked me what I thought of Palin. I said that I felt very badly for her daughter because I couldn't understand how a mother could subject her child to the glare this kid is getting. He said "Because she wants to be Vice President". Completely floored I responded "well, lots of people want lots of things but they don't put their kids through this". He shrugged and said "Well, her other kids seem to be having a good time." (This man is not a redneck. He's a retire executive...with daughters and grand daughters.)

This country has lost its moral compass.

2. Does that include the baby?
If Chelsea had gotten pregnant at 17, Bill would have been impeached again.

4. I have totally sworn off talking to those people.
All of the women in my family have lost their minds and it kills me to think of how ignorant they are. I have decided that I cannot call any of them until November, if then. Not a rational thought goes through the brains of these folks that support Grampa/Palin.

5. I heard something along those same lines today
3 elderly repub types were discussing how the media was making a big deal out nothing re the daughter and what a great Gov & mayor Palin had been. The one woman repeated at least 5 times, what a cutie the 17 year old boyfriend is. ( these people were in their 80's )

Hypocrites, liars and delusional people. :evilfrown:

I adjusted my Obama cap to make sure they could see it as I left the diner.....

6. An interesting snippt in the UK Daily Mail today in Ephraim Hardcastle's
column:

'SARAH Palin's anti-abortion views and her Down's syndrome son, Trig, helped her become John McCain's presidential running mate and, when she announced that her 17-year old daughter Bristol was pregnant, party spin merchants said the nation would be inspired by this loving family. Maybe so. But Republican strategist Don Sipple - a former George W Bush adviser - says: When you combine the special needs infant with the pregnant teen, some voters might wonder why she is pursuing political ambitions at the expense of maternal and family responsibilities.' Sexism! say the wimmin.
