I mean, Palin is a highly irresponsible pick on so many levels and with the modern world as it is, with the sway the United States of America holds not only over its own people but the entire planet, affording one with so little qualification, one who has shown such questionable conduct in both business and personal dealings is unfathomable.

With Palin ostensibly a religious nutcase and McCain a 72 year old man, it is clear that little heed has been paid to common sense, and a desperate, cynical roll of the dice in an attempt to grab votes from fundimentalist Christians and disaffected - and clearly presumed stupid - women. If in the event of a President departing office for any reason, the spectre of, perhaps, congress - or better still - the people of the United States - being given a vote on whether the VP should make the ascension to top office or be forced to call an immediate general election perhaps people like John McCain wouldn't troll the world by making outrageous choices to shore up their ailing campaigns. The onus would be on each and every candidate to make a well reasoned, sensible decision on just who their running mate will be.
