I'm trying to wrap my mind around how I'd feel if...
There had been hundreds of thousands of protestors at Kerry's nomination.

Sick and scared, I think.

I don't see how this can feel very good from the other side of the glass.

1. Yes, but this is NY! If this happened at other places it would mean more.
I don't mean to put down NY, but if he got lots of protestors at his speaches too, I'm sure they'd be quite concerned!

6. Doesn't he?
They spend a lot of effort making sure he doesn't see any protestors, but why would they require loyalty oaths if he weren't being protested wherever he goes?

7. I don't know, because the media never covers them.
I realize they don't want ony protestors inside, but I'm talking about outside, where the media can film. IF there was a large group there, believe me, it would hit the press.

2. I was thinking the same thing.
It doesn't matter how the media report the numbers... the scene of so many people at the protest HAD to have made an impression.

Keep in mind that for every one protester, there are probably at least ten who would have liked to have gone, but didn't have the means or time to go. (Like myself & most DUers.)

3. I was trying to do the same thing today!
I cannot imagine that you would not question your own judgement in the face of seeing that many people opposed to your candidate.

4. The people at that convention
consider the protesters and those who support them to be less than human. They'll lose NO sleep.

8. NBC had 2 reports,
one featured interviews with several marchers in their mid- to late-50s, perhaps, who said they had never done this in their lives but feel everything is at stake.

10. The pukes in charge wanted this
Edited on Sun Aug-29-04 08:35 PM by Jim4Wes
There is no other explanation for doing this in NYC. They wanted to see us wild-eyed dems on the street. But I don't think they expected quite this many, lol.

11. Does anyone recall the scale of protests from the 2000 Republican
Convention?

I don't recall, but if there were any protests, I doubt they were significant. This should tell Republicans that they are on the wrong track....hopefully, off the wrong track.
