Why Is Sarah Palin's Politcal Run MORE Historic Than Geraldine Ferraro's?
I keep hearing on blogs and cable news how historic this is to have the first African American nominee and the first female running mate. Has anyone even mentioned Geraldine Ferraro?

1. Because she is the candidate for the party that does not respect women
Republicon women are treated as second class citizens.
I had one tell me a few years ago that the order of rights is white man, black man, white woman, black woman. He was serious.

But it is also because the GOP writes history the way they want.

3. So they've dropped the Republican Ticket quantifier now? It was bound to happen seeing
how our cable news media reports are based on the old game of Telephone....a little less fact and truth and a lot more spin with each iteration. It's not like we actually value much less teach history anymore. That would make it too damned hard to revise.

4. Because no one thought the GOP would ever let a woman anywhere
near the head of the pack.. Just as a spouse. I'm sure Laura Bush is proud of this moment.. I'm sure she wished she could stand up and be more forward.. I guees her most liberating move was moving out of the WhiteHouse.

7. Because it's 1984, and the Ministry of Truth says that Palin is the first woman vp candidate.
Also, we've always been at war with Iran.

8. Because John McCain
is way more desperate than any candidate has ever been in recent history, due to be up against a candidate like Barack Obama.

11. John McCain spent 5 1/2 years in a Vietcong prison camp with no women.
Didn't even think about THAT before posting your unamerican, POW-hating question, did you?

;)
