Gallup shilling for Palin's speech possibly gaining "record ratings".

5. When I was in high school we had a wrestler in the 180lb class....
...who was a phenomenal athlete. During the state championship, which he won, in the finals match, he was up by an overwhelming margin and could have just hung on to claim his victory. Instead, in the final 30 seconds of the third round, he allowed his opponent to escape so he could attack him again and gain more points.

Never cede a single point is the lesson here, always attack even when up.

8. My point is there is a mentality here
Edited on Wed Sep-03-08 12:38 PM by Jake3463
that every poll shows a new disaster ahead of us. A 1 point difference in polling is statistical noise.

3. It's probable that following the convention that the race will be at least tied
but then as the campaign goes on Obama will regain the momentum. The GOP will get a bump as well.

4. Yep.
I'm thinking it's within a point or two either way immediately after. The good thing is that Obama has shown early signs of remaining around a consistent level since the middle of last week. It's possible that McTokenfemale's bump disolves quickly.

7. Not sure about that
It appeared that more people got to know Obama, and that cemented his support. It may go to 2-3 points, but I don't at this point see it tied. I do agree that any bounce could dissolve quickly.
