Before Speech, Running Mate Gets Some Coaching

ST. PAUL, Minn., Sept. 3 -- Since Sunday night, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has been holed up in her suite in the Hilton Minneapolis while a parade of Sen. John McCain's top advisers have briefed her on the nuances of his policy positions, national politics and, above all, how to introduce herself to the national audience she will address Wednesday night at the Republican convention

(cut)

Not anticipating that McCain would choose a woman as his running mate, the speech that was prepared in advance was "very masculine," according to campaign manager Rick Davis, and "we had to start from scratch."

(cut)

Except for an interview with People magazine the afternoon her selection was announced, she has not taken a single question from a reporter, and it remains unclear when she will speak to the national news media.

1. I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't speak to the media. If she does...
I expect it will only be on Faux or some other RW supported "news" outlet

2. They're trying to avoid an Eliza Doolittle moment of
"Move yer arse!" in front of national media.

4. Wait, what?
What could possibly be in the speech that Plain (typo, but I like it so it stays) couldn't say. Sounds like sexism to me.

6. VERY telling the ONLY media the GOP "let her" speak to was PEOPLE MAGAZINE...
Shows even more how these GOP "leaders" are really out of touch....how much more insulting to thinking women can they be?

The republicons really lack a moral compass altogether, don't they. Ptooey on their propaganda spin and manipulation, and their hypocritical, so-called 'family values.'

8. She did pretty well with Davis' first speech.

She was all perky and darling when performing the first speech the JSM III campaign wrote for her, like they want her to be tonight. Perky, feisty and a dedicated reformer.

JSM III caused a stir by trying to read the speech on the podium and making people think he was checking out her ass.

He also looked confused about clapping. When she praised Hillary, he went to clap like senators do and just hit three little claps. Should I or Shouldn't I -- seemed to be what he was thinking.
