5. Nope - Tonight's Performance Doesn't matter

Look at Obama's performance less than a week ago. Today, in the collective conscious of America - a somewhat dim memory.

Palin's performance tonight will not change her fundamentals.

I suspect it will be a good speech. I don't expect her to fall on her face. I'm sure she has excellent speech writers who will present her just the way they want her presented. It won't be a true picture of what she's about but it will be the image the GOP will want to present.

The bar has been set so low for her that she'll be hailed as a winner by the MSM no matter what.

And really, how hard a job does she have tonight? She's reciting a speech written by somebody else in front of a very supportive crowd. Plus she's a former TV sportscaster who has had a lot of practice in public speaking. Of course, she's going to do well. Big deal.

Seriously, by next week how she did on a pre-written speech that she had no hand in creating will be totally irrelevant to how she responds when she's forced to defend her record and views on a daily basis.

She can't avoid the press much longer and if McCain's camp continues to limit her access then the public is going to know that her nomination was a cheap stunt designed to attract moderate women voters.
