When we won back the house and senate? Was everyone thinking we were going to lose?

3. During 2004 election ...

... this place was full of worriers. The concern was about the Bushf*cks stealing another election and the whole Diebold voting machine cabal.

Based on the shenanigans in Ohio that year, the worry was not unfounded.

5. We're always worried. After all, our opponents are irresponsible, cheating criminals.
Who wouldn't be?

6. Yes...
I love DU but in some senses it functions as a panic cell.

You just can't tell some people some things. I've been asking random people out IRL two very simple questions.

Who's going to win?
Is this election over?

The answers have been from the random common American, overwhelmingly: Obama and Yes. I trust that more than any message board filled with panic over falling skies and little else.

7. I'm glad that's the meme among "regular people," but we still need to work our asses off...
...if we don't want it stolen YET AGAIN by the Rape-Publicans.

11. I'm not worried. I just want folks to push in their own locales for a paper trail for the machines.

13. About the same. DU is a sensitive place and there is a lot of worry here
Having said that, I've found Freeper-land to be the same. They just mask it with machismo bullshit, making them look even more foolish than they normally do.

14. No, but then...
...the election didn't boil down to just one all-important race, whether you absolutely won or totally lost.

Also, there are no conventions during mid-terms, so we don't have to wait for a week, hearing our opponents get all the airtime, and worrying about whether the polls will show they got enough of a "bounce" to pull ahead of us.

This is more like sitting in a doctor's reception room, waiting to hear if the biopsy results came back benign or malignant.
