After 30 Yrs Of Making "Women's Bodies" Public Policy-Palin's Daughter's Pregnancy Is OFF LIMITS?!?
To the Editor:

I love how the pregnancy of Sarah Palin’s daughter is, according to John McCain’s campaign, “a private family matter.” This, after the Republican Party has spent 30 years making policy on women’s bodies. Why can’t Republicans recognize that reproductive decisions are private for all American women?

2. Right FRICKIN' on
THEY are the ones who made my body a political football. THEY brought my bedroom (and my daughter's)into the election booth! Hell, Gov. Palin espouses and directs fund to ABSTINENCE EDUCATION (and away from contraception) -- this doesn't make this issue fair game? You can't have it both ways...basic, fundamental, principle. Sheesh!

3. THIS is how we must frame this. After 30 years of the GOP assaulting women's privacy rights....
we should just avert our eyes and cease our questions, to *allow the Palin family to deal with their private family matter*. Right.

The GOP hypocrisy knows no bounds.

6. According to Obama and Biden, the families should be off limits.
I think they understand the last 30 years of repub gender/reproductive/privacy politics. They seem to have a plan to deal with it.

But I understand that people here are going to do whatever they want regardless of our candidates' statements, so let the discussion now begin.

7. In their defense. They aren't Obama and Biden.
I've given up trying to change the subject for these guys.

8. hypocracy!
"The president of the United States (George W. Bush) believes that this is a matter that this family has chosen to work through together," and "believes that this is a private family matter," said spokeswoman Dana Perino.

9. I'll leave her daughter alone when she leaves mine alone.
She holds no moral high ground, this much we've already proven.

If she can tell me and my daughter what to do with our reproduction, then I can discuss hers publicly, too.

Or, she can go back to alaska where she belongs. Apparently. They think they like her.
