6. Except for political junkies, who watches CSpan?
It makes me very angry how mainstream media downplays all protests. We could bring tens of millions of people to a protest and they would still say tens of thousands.

16. Hi,
Lots of news all the time here - mainly to not report about the protests against our neoliberal government here in Germany.
By the way: I heard about a "Vomiting against Bush"-action in NY, but I didn't hear about it again.
Pictures? Anyone?
Hello from Germany,
Dirk

NYC marchers condemn Bush

Sunday 29 August 2004, 21:38 Makka Time, 18:38 GMT

Demonstrators carrying colourful banners and signs have marched in New York to protest President George Bush's policies over the Iraq war, one day ahead of the Republican national convention.

The marchers, estimated to reach more than 250,000, were to pass the Madison Square Garden convention site on Eighth Avenue as Republicans and visitors converge on New York for the gathering that will end with Bush's renomination for president.

The start of the march on Sunday took on a carnival atmosphere with people carrying large banners, shouting "No More Bush" and beating drums. The heat and humidity pushed the temperature to almost 29 Celsius.

Many held banners and signs such as "Say No to the War Economy", "Bush Must Go", and "Bush lied, thousands died" in opposition to the war. The Bush administration said it invaded Iraq to rid Saddam Hussein of weapons of mass destruction that threatened America's security but no such stockpiles were found.

. . .

20. reports this morning on Australian public radio
and on one of the shite morning TV programs said 250,000 although it was a pretty brief report, with the TV one just saying 250,000 protestors took to the streets in NY to protest "a range of issues" and that was it.
