Don't buy the "This is Palin's party" spin from the media.

My wife works with Republicans(State Legislators in Georgia) every day and they are split 50-50 on the VP selection. The ones that don't like Palin think it shows how bad a decision maker McCain can be, and the ones that do like her appear to be cheerleading for McCain to make it LOOK LIKE a good pick.

I'm sure that the extreme right really does like her, but I don't that is even close to the case with all Republicans.

Anyone else have similar stories?

including McCain - since she represents only the right fundamentalist groups

Everyone of them that is uncomfortable with the fundaloon wing of the party is going to be thinking seriously about leaving. The RNC is committing suicide.
