Between his montage video and Thompson's snoozer of a speech, I can't help but ask why was so much emphasis given to how he was beaten as a prisoner? I was kind of bummed out that his whole platform seemed to be 'he can't raise his hands over his shoulders'. The whole affair last night seemed one part morbid and one part surreal.
Well... At least none of it was effective. It reminded me of an episode of Hee Haw but somehow less entertaining.
Basically a movie about a man being beaten up continuously. The fundies loved it! There's some kind of S&M streak here that I don't even want to think about. And don't get me started about a religion based on death and suffering!
It's really fucking sick. Their reasons for validation are based upon past experiences of pain. Personally, I don't find that very enlightening and more importantly, irrelevant in the realm of politics.
