McCain's Campaign Almost Pulled Out Of A Debate Because Brokaw Is Moderating?
I wonder if this is why Brokaw is now bending over backwards for McCain...

" Schmidt's criticism is the latest example in the unraveling of what was once a fond relationship between the presumptive Republican presidential nominee and the media. Starting in the 2000 Republican primaries, the Arizona senator became a media sensation by chatting up the press in the back of his ``Straight Talk Express'' campaign bus. The national press corps freely mingled with McCain for hours on the bus, with no topic off limits.

More recently, though, McCain, 72, has accused news organizations such as the New York Times, Time magazine and the NBC network of being unfair to him. The campaign even considered pulling out of one of the three presidential debates because it would be moderated by Tom Brokaw, a former NBC News anchorman."

3. I bet you this predates that. This may be the smoking gun. And now Brokaw is spewing for McCain.
They settled on the debates weeks ago.

I bet you they complained that the entire NBC News organization was against them.

12. Brokaw has been shilling for GOP since Welch's reign at GE. The GOP strategists know they can scare
the rest of the talking heads whenever they use this ACT about media bias. The mediawhores will use it as MORE REASON to bend over backwards.

at podunk town hall meetings then he is giving
the election away.

If he cancels even one debate he will be dead
to the media.

7. McCheater is trying to fix the rest of the debates.
Rove knows he will be destroyed otherwise. Obama needs to watch this very closely. We can't let Rove decide unilaterally decide what and who is acceptable in the debates.

9. So perhaps that is his strategy, to blame the "libural" media for bias
If they play that game, all Obama has to say is mccain is afraid to debate the issues

Yes, thanks to the communications act of the 90's, the right wing has taken over most of the media, and has spread the myth that the media is "libural", except for faux of course, which is "fair and balanced"

but even with that propaganda spewed out on the airwaves, people are still going to wonder why mccain won't debate Obama

In addition, as long as Obama is able to maintain a lead, mccain will have no choice but to debate him

I don't think most of the people are going to buy mccain's argument that he won't debate because the media doesn't like him, wah wah wah

10. It is about time the media put him under scrutiny. They haven't done their job
for years

Just because the AHole got a free pass from taking bribes from Keating, and his voting record, doesn't mean he isn't accountable

mccain if you can't take the heat, get out of the kitchen you bastard
