Only a Suggestion - I Certainly Enjoy Inflammatory Speech, But I'm Not Sure This is the Time...
...for us to get into the muck with Republicans.

Obama/Biden -- ahead because they speak to issues & not resort to lazy rhetoric. Yeah, I get that supporters are more easily forgiven for loose talk; but don't we supporters want to earn the same level of credibility as those we support?

At this point -- Don't we better serve our candidates by taking the high road as well???

1. Issues yes, but when they attack and distort your record, that MUST be answered
and quickly

3. I Entirely Agree ( and I love unleashing my own acerbic tongue when I'm politically offended)...
This understood -- There's also a time for the high road. There's a time when we need to use our intellects to dissect the "logic" of the opposition in a dispassionate way.

This is what leaders do. Obama is ahead. Why? -- because he wrestles with issues. If he were a knee jerk candidate -- he'd never won the primary. If we're on board with Obama -- lets be on board with beating up the opposition with our thoughtfulness.

2. reform, environment, abortion, sex education,
We're talking about issues. She's just so horrifyingly bad that she makes herself look like a candidate for Jerry Springer instead of the Presidency. Not our fault.

4. I Get What You're Saying, Palin is an Abysmal choice...
..What I'm saying is that the neocons are behind this time around & we help them by allowing ourselves to be baited into muck slinging.

The greatest way to become an underdog is to behave like one -- when you have the advantage.

6. High road?
It's so cliche' -

I do not want to make fun of kids names or predicaments - but I think pointing out that Palin is a Pentecostal, wolf killing, book censoring, idiot is fair game.

I don't like the nasty stuff being said about her children - that is total shit - but her? She has a target on her ass.

9. How would you phrase these sentiments if you were running against her???
???

Get my point? You're not helping Obama/McCain by lazy crude language ('kinda the opposite).

I dearly love using my well earned cynicism to make a point! It is with much self restraint that I started this thread.

That's the thing I'm asking -- can we put our righteous indignation aside long enough to positively support this ticket?

10. I am not
running against her.

If I were I would certainly ask my VEEP (Biden) to confront her on this shit in a debate.

8. I disagree. Palin is an infant great white shark.

Unlike Democrats, failing the first time around doesn't bar you from future campaigns in the Republican Party. It is vital that she is mortally wounded politically. I have never seen an American politician who fits the classical profile of a dictator like this before.

This isn't just about this election.

...honest question.

12. She has to be framed as the extremist she is.
Not only too inexperienced for the Presidency, but utterly unfit to leas the United States.

13. The most extreme fringe candidate from either party nominated
for national office in memory.

I think that's more or less polite talk for toys in the attic apeshit.

14. Thank You for You're Thoughtful Response...
Palin's Vetting process has only just begun.

No one in their right mind could believe that she's fit to be a heartbeat away from the presidency. McCain has not passed that threshold himself (given all his surrendering to Bush).

Obama has laid out his agenda. Biden is clearly qualified to take over if something happens to Barack.

Thank you for getting that our it will all come out in the wash -- as long as we Americans insist on the "washing" process.

You have no idea how tempted I am to unleash my sharp tongue on McCain/Palin. But the large picture is vastly more important than my personal proclivities...

15. We're the 527
The hitmen for Obama/Biden.

It's necessary and frankly, I'm itching for a fight so I will do the job happily and yes, Obama won't be happy with us. So be it.

...but we don't help Obama by being as crude as we can be (and I dearly enjoy shooting from the hip!).

...We gotta do more than that right now.

18. The candidate takes the high road
Those of us in the trenches should give as good as we are given. Too many times I've been with people patting ourselves on the back for an ethical campaign that lost. The people are fighting with are sociopaths. We have to be brutal.

21. I entirely get that someone's gotta serve up the red meat...
...& if Obama hadn't done it -- my posts would be much more crude.

I mean, fuck civility when civility is taken as weakness!!!

We're ahead now. If the Rovian mind Fockers get the advantage again -- we'll deal with them on their own terms (only stronger).
