A Toast, to all that we have accomplished.

Today marked the day of George W. Bush's last Republican National Convention. That's a moment we shouldn't let pass without lifting a glass.

A Toast, to the fact that the failures of the last eight years, and especially the last four years, prevented The American President from appearing at his own last Republican National Convention in person. They can blame it on the worst calamity in the history of the Republic Hurricane Gustav all they want, but we know what really happened.

A Toast, to the way the Republicans think Americans are so completely stupid and myopic that they won't remember that the last eight years actually happened and are not a figment of our imagination. This will kill them, come November.

A Toast, to the Reality-Based Community.

A Toast, to 139 Days until the end of the Worst Administration in a Century.

A Toast.

We made it. We're still here. And we're going to win.

When's the last time a sitting GOP President was too ashamed too embarrass his own party by showing up at his own freaking Convention? Compare and contrast to Bill Clinton (who was impeached) and his trimumphant Democratic National Convention swan song in 2000, and that gorgeous ovation we gave him only a few nights ago.
