There have been a lot of low post posers talking up Palin and the killing of animals in Alaska lately. I doubt if untold thousands of Native alaskans have suddenly decided to join DU.

As For their judgmental crap about Floridians or any DUer from a place other than Alaska, I offer my ass for a nice big kiss.

I am not even being sarcastic. Alaska is VERY different from the lower 48 in that regard. Most of the people, like 99%, do not need to hunt to eat or even have hunting as a serious option to offset food prices. So, down here hunting is a hobby. A lot of people think that having killing things as a hobby is icky.

I was told about this website today by a friend while discussing politics. I checked it out and registered.

All it took was for me to suggest that we spend more time blasting Palin (and McCain too: we all seem to have forgotten about him) on the issues and not the "Days Of Our Lives" nonsense that the MSM and tabloids have been perpetrating and I was labeled a "troll" and right-winger by several of the posters here.

Don't worry: my wittle feewings weren't hurt too badly and I'll get plenty of sleep tonight.

I just think it is sad that modern progressives spend more time slinging mud (which only serves to martyr her, like the attacks Clinton endured) and fighting amongst ourselves than organizing and facing the enemy head on.

Maybe it'll take a few more terms of Republican atics for us to finally get our act together...

Unless you have lived in Alaska you don't have a clue what your talking about. Truth be told many, many, many liberals and left leaning residents of Alaska hunt, fish, own guns, shoot guns, and are proud democrats. You forget, most of our grandparents and prior generations endorsed, enjoyed, and passed along the outdoor lifestyle to the younger generations. The life lessons it taught shaped us into the people we are today and made us more responsible.

That doesn't mean that we don't care about the earth, conservation, or the environment. Truth be told, we are more involved with it than those who like to look at it under glass.

Now can we get back to the important issues and stop fighting among ourselves?
