The talking heads cough that one up several times a day so it MUST be true, right? Well, not so much, as anyone who has passed thru any branch's basic training can tell you. See, if he HAD accepted release he would have faced a small problem....this-

The Code of Conduct for the US military prohibits American servicemen from accepting parole if they are taken prisoner by the enemy. ("If captured...I will accept neither parole nor special favors from the enemy.") US military personnel who accept parole from enemy captors are subject to courts-martial upon their return to the United States.

and then of course he'd also be hit also with "conduct unbecoming" under the UCMJ.

AND, oh yeah-he made a few videos for them under duress. The charges above coupled with his "confessions" would have been a life changing event including Leavenworth and a dishonorable discharge.

I would never denigrate his service but to hear these sock puppets repeat this tripe as if it was perfectly acceptable for him to come home and that he would face no consequences had that been his choice makes me want to puke.
