I would have played a drinking game for every time prison, POW, etc was used.

Serving your country is an honorable thing.

But you know what?
My grandfather spent 3 years in Alaska, fought at the battle of Attu, some of the worst conditions of the war, spent weeks with no food and improper clothing for the cold, had buddies die next to him, had to kill the enemy...
AND NOT ONCE IN HIS LIFE did he ever use that event to try to gain sympathy or to get "something" from that experience.

That is what bothers me so bad about that pow, pow, pow. It somehow cheapens and degrades something about that horrible time. Who would want it brought up over and over again?

I don't want a president that goes on and on about his past. I want to know what he's doing right now!
My grandfather didn't let those 3 horrible years in WW2 define the next 60 years of his life!
What has McLame been doing the last 40 years that his POW experience is the most important thing in his life now?!?

Am I making any sense here?

What does not voting to help Katrina victims, not voting to help children get heath care....
how is that related to being a POW? Didn't learn any compassion in the last 40 years?
Being locked up didn't lead you to want you to help others? Weird.
