Basic binary question: either you're right or you're wrong.
Or maybe something else happens. Okay, so this is a trinary question. What will be the fate of Governor Sarah Palin in the 2008 election?
Crap, I'm such an elitist, I've got to nuance this question. So it's a quarternary question. But I'm stopping at four options. That's it; no more than four. What will happen to her career between now and November?
She's eating a cascade of bad news right now and may be poised to hurt the Republican ticket. Among the problems civilized people can discuss include:
- Her lack of prior interest or understanding of foreign policy
- Her association with far right wing religious causes, including a video of her preacher trying to turn the Global War on Terror into a culture war
- Her ties to oil corporations
- Her ties to the Alaskan secessionist movement
- Her thoughtless embrace of discredited anti-evolution & pro-abstinence policies in public schools
- Her improper involvement in the firing of an admittedly bad state trooper
- Her pursuit of earmarks while governor
- Her lying about pursuiing earmarks while running for Vice President
- Her reckless fiscal record as mayor of Wasilla
- The fact that her record consists mostly of being the mayor of Wasilla
With such spectacular resume, I'm surprised they aren't trying to replace McCain with her at the top of the ticket.
