Why lie about a background check?

These people make it up as they go along.

How crazy is that?

My mother once worked in a position that required a background check for a security clearance. The government sent people to interview all the neighbors. This is serious business, why lie about something so easily challenged.

They had to recheck her every two years or so. The FBI would come and talk to the neighbors and our family. It really wasn't a minor deal at all.

And then when my mother was 80 years old and hadn't driven in 10 years, they passed voter ID in her state and she couldn't vote cause she had no ID. Go figure.

3. Lying is what they do. It's a chronic condition.
