One is that Bush wins and his policies destroy us...

The other is that Kerry wins but most people still believe that Bush's policies were OK but we needed a slight change of direction.

Then the Republicans hold Kerry responsible for the negative outcome of Bush's irresponsible policies and rip Kerry to shreds for four years and the people buy that argument.

3. I don't think most people believe Bush's policies are okay

Seems to me the main reason most people go for Bush is the Mafia Protection Racket Angle-*I protect you from terrorism* or the Let's go Kill All Those Feckers Before They Come and Get Us Rambo routine.

There's more sensible people who don't fall for that baloney so that even if, by some weird twist (or steal) Bush was elected FOR THE FIRST TIME, they STILL aren't going to agree with his policies.
