Obama: "We have a budget of about three times {the Wacilla annual budget} just for the month"
Edited on Mon Sep-01-08 09:35 PM by EffieBlack
"Gov. Palin's town of Wacilla {he pronounced it "Wah-silly" - ha ha} has, I think, 50 employees. We have about 2,500 in the campaign. I think their budget is $12 million a year. We have a budget of about three times that just for the month." Barack Obama, CNN, in response to Anderson Cooper's question about the Republican claim that Palin has more executive experience than he has.

In other words, my CAMPAIGN is bigger and more complicated than the TOWN that Palin ran.

7. Ooooooooooh!!!

He has a way of putting things that is so completely factual... you just can't miss the obvious.

I'm voting for him. Even if he looks tacky eating pretzels.

9. And given they're running for FEDERAL office, at least Obama doesn't
refer to Pennsylvania as visiting a new part of the country!

10. I love it!
And might I add, he has run his campaign extremely well and more effectively than we have seen in campaigns past )although we can credit the good Dr Dean for giving them the blueprints how), and he has succeeded in growing that campaign--where, Madam Mayor Palin's attempts to "grow" her hometown led to $20 million dollars in debt and unpleasant suburban sprawl--she raised taxes for a sports complex, and she invited in some kind of mining operation. She's not executively sound from what I can see of her executive experience. And from her heavy-handed firings of a Police Chief and a librarian while mayor, and her nonsense with firing a Public Saftey Commissioner over her personal business as governor, I don't think she's a responsible leader at all.

Whereas Obama is all about finding and keeping qualified and serious people and empowering them to do their jobs well. He totally told them, right?

21. He left out something.
As the mayor, she didn't even have a vote on the city council. She merely presided, unless there was a tie. (Okay, that means she has one thing in common with Cheney and the Senate.)

And her duties were limited to overseeing police and public works. (The schools and fire dept. were not town responsibilities.)
