So...McCain surrogates have been destroyed by Campbell Brown & Larry King re: Palin
Um...hey, Republicans? You, uh, might want to give your surrogates some talking points that make some sense whatsoever about Palin's lack of experience. When CNN lightweights are tearing up your top spokesman and member of Congress on live TV...you might have a problem.

1. The McCain surrogate wasn't destroyed on Larry King
Far from it. The RW flack owned the conversation and kept Carville on defense.

Campbell Brown kicked ass, but Dems are gonna have to kick it up if they're going to get the truth out.

3. In the part I saw, Carville clearly came out on top.
It was the last 5 minutes or so.

5. She filibustered her butt off ...
when Carville or Miller could get a word in, they definitely got the "win," but this rabid right winger just started filibustering two sentences into their responses. King needed a freakin mute button.

7. The moment the congressperson implied questioning if palin is qualifed to be VP as sexist
that is when she lost the argument

When the congressperson said that palin has more experience than Biden and Obama together, that is when she lost the argument

I do agree that Campbell Brown kicked ass

9. I didn't see it that way
The Republican woman was sputtering and trying to redirect and misdirect, they called her out on this, and they asked her point blank if she was claiming that Palin had more international experience than Obama and Biden - and she could only say "Well, no..."

14. It was KING who asked about international experience.
He asked twice and neither time did she answer the question. She did NOT say "well, no."

Carville sat there stammering because the RW shill pwned him by calling him a misogynist. He was forced into defense mode from that point forward. Not good.

13. You saw it differently
the GOP lady did try and filibuster, but Carville ripped her to pieces. They had no answers for Carville or Steph Miller.

2. Some of those surrogates are saying Palin is better than Hillary Clinton.
I couldn't take it. The Kool-Aid was flowing fast.

6. Not sending their "A" team -- BUT
then they no longer have an "A" Team -- all major parties noticeably absent as noted by Josh Marshall.

I was skimming through the reader comments on Greg Sargent's featured post. And this commenter makes a really good point: how many elected Republicans have you seen on TV as surrogates for Gov. Palin? Sticking up for her, defending her? Anything?

snip...

This isn't just a rhetorical question. There's a lot of tv I don't get to watch. But I don't have a sense I've heard much from elected officeholders. Not really much of anything. And it's pretty striking once it's pointed out.

10. CSPAN had some on
CSPAN asked some of the elected repuke officals on the floor of the convention about what was going on with Palin and they all repeated the same silly talking points that have been spouted today from others - but with an emphasis on - "just wait until people meet her and get to know her" and other such nonsense.

11. Tucker Bounds was being an obnoxious little shit.
The jury is still out on Campbell Brown in my view, but she pressed him repeatedly to answer the damn question. Quite unexpected. Campbell Brown, not the GOP handpuppet.
