Chris Matthews was gushing over how the Repubs. are handling their convention-NOT like Bush

He's at the Convention (which Olbermann isn't allowed to be) and he's gushing over how adaptable the Repubs. are at turning a negative (Gustav since there are so many negatives) into a positive, showing how they DO put "country first." He said that the Dems. are trying to make this election into McCain=Bush, but by being "on the scene" and changing their Convention into "action to help the hurricane victims," McCain can show he IS a maverick and he ISN'T Bush's third term.

I worry that this may work to make people think McCain DOES really care. Especially if he turns his acceptance speech into some "call to arms" to help the victims. We need to get ads out there showing him with Bush during Katrina!

This is so obvious that they're using these people's tragedy for their own benefit. It's a Category 1 for chrissake. Not much more than a rainstorm. I hope the media fuels it so much they don't realize what asses they really look like. If my non-political 24 year old daughter gets it, everybody will. And there goes Chris Matthews again, showing what a fool he is. Some people just don't have a moral compass.

so it may be serious. And McCain has that way of LOOKING authentic, like a grandpa figure, and I fear it may work at making people think he cares about people.
