I've had enough of the spineless cowards on this forum who contribute nothing but rampant defeatism. How do you help the Democratic Party or progressive causes by saying "Kerry doesn't stand a chance.", "We're DOOMED!", "Oh, if only 'X' had won the nomination", and so on? All you do is come on to this forum and criticize while presenting no real ideas of your own or making any efforts to actually win the election. You would rather sit down and pretend to be a political analyst and criticize all day long. Well let me tell you something: the lowest form of life is a critic.
The fact of the matter is that presidential campaigns go in cycles with some weeks being good and some being bad. No campaign ever has put together an unbroken series of good weeks. Hell, in 1992 Bush the elder pulled within one point of Clinton in mid-October in the polls and looked like he might pass Clinton. The fact of the matter is that these pessimists were saying one year ago that we shouldn't even try in 2004, that we stood no chance. They were proven wrong. In December 2003, after the capture of Saddam Hussein, they said that Bush would simply coast to victory and would barely have to campaign. They were proven wrong. As recently as the heat of the primary season, they were saying that we should just write off the year and gear up for 2008. They were proven wrong. The fact of the matter is that even after three very rough weeks, we are still tied after the Republicans played their very best card against Kerry.
I've finally had enough of those who do nothing but spout defeatist rants. From now on, every negative topic's author is going on my ignore list. I encourage those who are not satisfied to make positive suggestions rather than say "Kerry's a moron who's gonna lose!". Try saying "Hey, I thought of something that might help us.".
