Palin's FIRST son illegitimate?
Hey, before you skewer me on this, I know that LOTS and lots and lots of women are pregnant on their wedding day, and that this has been happening for thousands of years. I also know that the vast majority of people have sex before marriage, and I have absolutely no problem with this. BUT, and this is a huge "but", the fundies consider premarital sex to be "fornication" and a huge, huge, horribly EEEEE-VUL sin. Palin is a fundie whacko. Therefore, she and those of her ilk consider pre-marital sex to be horribly sinful.

This is already out there on the intertubes. Apparently Colmes has been discussing this, as well as others.

Sarah and Todd Palin eloped on Aug 29, 1988. Son Track was born April 20, 1989.

Full-term pregnancy is 38 weeks from CONCEPTION, but "gestational age" is expressed from the 1st day of the last menstrual period (LMP) - or 40 weeks after LMP (even though the woman is not actually pregnant for those first two weeks. weird, I know, but that's how it's done)

Counting from their wedding night, the night when a good Jeezoid like Sarah should have been deflowered, their son was born 33 1/2 weeks later. OR, to put it more plainly, 4 1/2 weeks "early" (35 1/2 wks gestational age, since this would be 35 1/2 wks since LMP).
If he was NOT born 4 1/2 weeks early, but at 40 wks post LMP (aka full term, then ) he was conceived on or about July 28, 1988. During the week of Aug. 11, Sarah would have begun to be concerned about Aunt Flo not arriving (assuming the average 28 day cycle). By August 29, her period would have been two-and-a-half weeks late. Even with 1988 technology, a home pregnancy test would have come back positive.

Time to elope.

1. pat robertson did the same
Fundies won't care, so long as she supports their causes. Moderates will care, however, to see Democrats using stupid talking points like this.

5. Have to agree with that.
This is a non-issue at best.

24. Amen Freddie, I have always believed that .
You have to get a licence to be married but not to be born. So, the onus is on the parents, not the child.

4. It's possible Sarah was pregnant when she got married,
but if she was married 10 minutes before her son was born, he would not be illegitimate. I don't know if people even use that term anymore, but it is the state of the mother at the time of the child's birth that determined whether the child was legitimate or illegitimate.

6. She wants to see laws conform to her religion and yet she doesn't conform to it.
I think the fact she wants to legislate her religion on us is important and anything that flags she doesn't adhere to that religion is another example of hypocrisy.

7. If anybody can come up with Track's birthweight, you can pretty much
determine whether he was 'early' or full term.

14. No matter how many times the fundies are caught in the midst of their hypocrisy
They're not gonna admit it and nothing's gonna change. The only way to change it is marginalize them. Basically show them that the world works better without their fucking crazy views imposed on it.

15. Oh, please
This is a big non-starter. Give it a rest. Fundies will not give more than two shits about this, especially since the woman has four additional living children, including one with Downs that she could have aborted but did not.

Let's stick with the real issues: the ethical questions (troopergate), her lack of experience, her environmental backwardness, her support for abolishing Roe v. Wade, etc.

16. My nasty christo-fascist zombie-brigade horrid former SIL was preggers prior to the White Wedding.
Apparently, that hateful woman (my former SIL) and my late brother-in-law stood before their nutball congregation and pleaded for forgiveness for their sin. :eyes: Apparently, it was quite a show. It happened before I married into the fundie-fruitcake nightmare hell of a family, so I got to miss that fun. (Poor Mr kt. I couldn't get away from that fast enough. You wouldn't catch him dead in a RW hate-fest like that on his own accord.) My later BIL became a music minister. So long as you "beg for forgiveness," you can do anything... like get pregnant, torture, start illegal wars... etc.

21. "Illegitimate", an outdated concept, typically refers to being BORN
out of wedlock, not conceived out of wedlock.

22. re "illegitimate" - I used the term others are using out there.
At any rate, terminology aside, there's a good chance that pre-marital sex, and pre-marital conception occurred.

To fundies, that's a big deal.

But the old IOKIYAR probably applies here, as always.

25. are you serious?
maybe you and Colmes should take a xanax and chill

I hope the democratic presidential campaign won't embarrass itself by delving into Palin's sex life. The utter drivel by posters both here and at Kos spreading unsubstantiated rumors and slandering the Palin's children will come back to haunt Obama. Remember, the candidate's supporters reflect back on the candidate.

With friends like this Obama doesn't need enemies.
