3. All the Pubs should call that guy who had his church members praying
for a torrential rain during Obama's speech last Thursday! Apparently God DID listen them, but chose His own method of disruption!

4. I can't help but thinking...
even with the hurricane as an excuse, it's gonna look reeeeeal weak if the candidate doesn't even show at the convention.

5. If McCain doesn't show up, does that mean he is not the nominee?
Don't they have to take a vote, and doesn't the nominee has to accept?

11. My wife and I were just discussing that.
He does have to accept, but does he have to do it at the convention? I have no idea.

15. I believe that it was FDR who broke with previous custom by showing up at the convention
to accept the nomination. Up until then, the candidate sat at home so he could look surprised when the Publisher's Clearing House Prize Patrol showed up to tell him the results!

6. are we really supposed to buy that
McCain is "noble" and is putting the "hurricane" before his convention? This is so transparently political. If this happens, Dems should definitely say that McCain is trying to make up for the Let them Eat Cake moment.

14. Considering that McCain voted against Katrina victims funding
this "white haired dude" will do anything to get elected.

13. It would be worse for him if he were to show up at the convention
to speak to a crowd of empty seats.

17. No doubt another GOP "compassionate conservative" photo-op in New Orleans is being considered.
With Troopergate Palin at his side to spout evangelical codewords in prayer.
