The voice! That should be enough to end the Palin Pander.
Her voice is so grating I reach for the mute button whenever I see her on the TeeVee. Maybe it would be tolerable if there were some substance spewing forth but it's just empty grating noise.

There. Said it.

It makes my ears bleed. I have to have the remote within arms distance whenever she comes on.

She was practical, had substance and was no shallow cheerleader.

6. Margie wasn't grating, Palin is.
Palin has the same "accent" but not the same tone.

4. I was never a huge fan of cheerleaders -
She certainly irritates this female - maybe unfairly but she is coming across as a shallow republican cheerleader with no substance

she wasn't a cheerleader. She was a beauty pageant runner up and a point guard. Bush was the cheerleader.

15. Nice Avatar
and also, her voice is annoying, but not because it's naturally so. No one has ever showed her how to use a microphone appropriately. You don't have to yell, lady--the sound guy can just turn up the volume and you can speak as normal. Hillary Clinton used to do that "yelly" thing, too, but she figured out that it becomes a screech real quickly and she moderated her tone. God willing, Palin will never figure it out. What an albatross!

19. LOL, maybe that is why her brief stint as sports anchor didn't last.

I think they should give her an outdoor show, you know one of those hunting/fishing shows. And I think her first guest should be Dick Cheney.

Outdoors with the GOP VP Nominee!

And I didn't even bother to watch that rally, just saw snippets on "Countdown" and elsewhere. I can already tell it's going to give me a headache having to tolerate her voice (and McCain's...geez, with all his money, you think he'd fix that hole in his tooth..) for the next couple of months; can't imagine having to do so for four years! Gah..

22. If I remember correctly, John McCain used to have a squeaky
and very irritating voice. I'm thinking back in the mid- to late 80s, when he was first getting into big-time national politics. Someone told him that if he ever wanted to run for president he'd need to get the voice fixed. My understanding was that he enlisted the services of a voice coach who taught him to speak much more slowly to lower the register of his voice.

Birds of a feather and all that?

He should had just picked Elisabeth Hasselbeck as his running mate. The voice is just annoying and just as qualified to be a heartbeat away from the presidency.

To be fair though, at least Palin doesn't look creepy when she smiles the way McMansion does.

31. Lots of voices annoy me.
I care more about what they say, and what the people in control of those voices do.

And Sarah Palin will destroy this country with what she does and what she says. What tone it is in is completely irrelevant to me.

She's no speech writer. She can't deliver speeches, and her speech was a damn roll call added with a lame shout out.

From SNL, Pulp Fiction, Letting Go of God. I like Julia Sweeney though, so I can overlook an annoying voice on her. Not so with Sarah Palin.
