Day 3 of "Palin-Panic" on DU
I think I'm gonna :puke: if I see another thread attacking her... (fill in any human foible from A to Z) :puke:

This is getting ridiculous! Uggh :(

1. What's your definition of attack?
Calling her a c*** is an attack and I would not read those posts.

Calling her on the carpet for not knowing ANYTHING about the Federal government or ANYTHING about international affairs is completely relevant.

11. It's the obsession that's worrying to me
Is she that big of a threat? VP's are a 1 week event - let's not overemphasize the importance of the VP on the election.

C'mon, you have to admit it's starting to look desperate.

Name one thing about her life that hasn't been attacked just this morning?

23. I was hoping it would be out of our system by now
VP's have a small impact on the election - it will be nice if we can make her into the final nail in McPOWs coffin, but I wish there was less of the "grasping at straws" aspect that someone mentioned in this thread.

24. Seriously.
I have heard here: Don't attack her for rumors.

Don't attack her for being unqualified.
Don't attack her for being a token woman for mcpow.
Don't attack for for being governor of a small population state.
Don't attack her for her being a hypocrite on family values.

Grow a spine people. We are going to tear her, mcpow and anyone near them to shreds.

27. I didn't suggest we not attack her !
I was merely suggesting that maybe we should be doing at least something to attack the top of the ticket - McPOW as he is the one who is running. After 3 days I'm finding that some are seeming desperate to pin something on her that even our candidate couldn't pass muster on. So, let's be a little more pragmatic maybe?

Mcpow shows extremely poor judgment and reactionary impulses by caving to his aides in picking someone so woefully unqualified for such an important position.

32. That's a good line of attack - it was McPOW that chose this joker lady
Let's attack his poor judgement.

Remember how much pressure was on Obama as this was his first major decision? Biden showed he had excellent judgement.

Palin shows that McPOW is anything BUT a maverick - he's pandering and it shows POOR JUDGEMENT.

Agreed.

Especially new stories involving major political news.

I don't think there's any need to push a Republican meme ("Dems are scared of Palin") just because a bunch of political junkies are basking in the thrill of such an outlandish nomination.

28. See, Here's the Way to Look At It
Edited on Sun Aug-31-08 08:15 AM by DarthDem
McCain made a SHOCKINGLY irresponsible choice. So there's a lot to talk about concerning his judgment as it becomes clear just how awful she really is. In addition - - and I think this is really key - - no one knew a damn thing about this nutbird until Friday. We already know the Ghoul. We already know Mittens and the Huckster and of course, Holy Joe. We sort of knew the colorless T-Paw. We had discussed Cantor and Portman. But she came out of absolutely nowhere, meaning that you've seen a lot of people looking at her closely in a very compressed space of time.

It's not panic, and there's nothing abnormal about it.

34. I will say that it was a shocking choice and that it did get people riled up
Notice how I'm trying not to use the word panic - I think that kinda pisses people off - it's just that it appears that way at times.

I think your analysis is accurate though - I was just hoping that on the 3rd day things would have calmed down some, but it appears that some are just showing up for the party today - lol!

Honestly, if Obama did something equally ridiculous, I wouldn't expect our "counterparts" to stop talking about it for a long time either, and I wouldn't even blame them for it. Of course, he never would do such a thing.

to scared to attack....we may look bad....alot of good that has gotten us...maybe if we get ugly during campaigns and attack (and even make crap us about our opponent) we could win presidential elections and prevent totally unnecessary wars from being fought and thousands of deaths from occurring. The way the game is played today is that issues do not mean a damn thing...what's important is the amount of money someone pays for a haircut, how many houses someone owns and statements a person's pastor makes...those are the issues that win and lose a presidential campaign unfortunately!

36. No! This should be all about Obama's vs McCain's JUDGMENT.
Obama picks a VERY highly respected and knowledgeable senior
Washington statesman. He knows world leaders on a first name basis.
Nobody questions his qualifications to be Vice President

McCain picks an unknown beauty pageant queen/mayor of a small Alaska fishing town,
who recently became Governor, and has some ethical clouds hanging over her.

Who's Judgment is superior?

43. It's ASTOUNDING, all of it
Nobody with any sense will ever get over it. Scholars are amazed, and talking among themselves in groups about it. This will be talked about for decades, written of in history books.

This is world-class blunder time. And legitimate outrage.

A Maury Povich VP pick - zero chance of that happening, yet it did, and there's more to come.

When the rest of the ugly that's "laying there" to be found in this one is pulled up, it just may be enough to overcome the racism in this country.

People no longer wait for the press to tell them what's true, they go find it themselves as far as possible... and a mb is a logical place to trade leads. It all works together in the end.

The effort to make people feel bad for their thoughts, and self-censor, is what's really ugly, stupid, and boring.
